This guide covers participating in the Squid ($QUID) sale through Legion. The sale also runs on Kraken, which is handled separately. The Squid sale on Legion runs from 30 June 2026, 1:00 PM UTC to 3 July 2026, 1:00 PM UTC — please confirm timing on the official sale page.
Before you start
Check you're eligible. Eligibility is based on your country of residence, not your citizenship. For the Squid sale, residents of the following are not eligible to participate: the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Cuba, and the sanctioned regions of Ukraine. Exclusions can vary by sale — see the full eligibility terms here.
Set up your account and complete verification before the sale opens, so you're ready to apply as soon as it starts.
You'll need a wallet, USDC on Ethereum Mainnet (the amount you want to apply for), and some ETH for gas.
Step 1 — Create your Legion account
Go to app.legion.cc and sign up.
Connect a wallet — either Legion's non-custodial embedded wallet or an external wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby.
Connect your X (Twitter) account, and optionally connect GitHub. These feed your Legion Score, which influences your allocation odds.
Step 2 — Complete KYC and Proof of Address
KYC: a government-issued, machine-readable photo ID (for example, a passport).
Proof of Address: an original PDF (not a screenshot) showing your full legal name and current residential address, generated within the last 90 days — for example, a bank statement or utility bill.
Verification is handled by Veriff and is usually instant when you follow the on-screen instructions. The KYC flow will show you which documents are accepted for your region.
Important: you must use your physical ID document. A photo of a screen or another device displaying your ID (for example, a phone showing your passport) will not be accepted.
Step 3 — Fund your wallet
Make sure the wallet you'll use holds the USDC amount you want to apply for, on Ethereum Mainnet, plus ETH for gas. Without ETH you cannot complete transactions.
Step 4 — Apply when the sale opens
Open the Squid sale on Legion during the sale window.
You apply by depositing the amount you want to invest up front (for example, 1,000 USDC) and signing the sale agreement. On Legion, this deposit is your application.
Legion is merit-based, not first-come-first-served — you don't need to race, and bots cannot snipe allocations. Simply apply within the window.
Applications are final once submitted. If you withdraw your application, you cannot re-apply to this sale.
Step 5 — Squid reviews and decides allocations
After applications close, the Squid team reviews them and decides each participant's allocation. Legion does not make this decision.
Step 6 — After the decision
Accepted for your full amount: your deposit is used automatically — there is nothing to do until you claim.
Accepted for less than you deposited: reclaim the excess (the difference) using the Reclaim button on the sale page.
Not accepted: reclaim your full deposit.
You can also request a refund within 14 days of the sale concluding.
Step 7 — Claim your $QUID at TGE
At TGE, you'll claim your $QUID from your Legion account, using the same wallet you used to participate. The exact claim steps will be available in your Legion account closer to TGE.
Important things to know
Use the same wallet to claim as you used to deposit.
Legion is non-custodial — it never holds your private keys, so back up your wallet and recovery details.
Stay safe: only use the official legion.cc site and Squid's official sale page. Legion admins will never message you first, and you should never share your seed phrase or private key.
Allocation questions go to the Squid team — Legion does not decide who receives an allocation.
